About the Position: This is a NON-STATE, TIME LIMITED position. The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) Office of Teaching and Leading (OTL) is seeking to employ an Education Program Development Team Leader to serve as the OTL Innovation and Engagement Coordinator. The incumbent will lead stakeholder engagement activities (both internal and external) that facilitate educator workforce innovation and effectiveness. The OTL Innovation and Engagement Coordinator will be responsible forcoordinating innovative educator workforce initiatives, building buy-in across districts and universities, creating aligned reporting systems, and working with stakeholders to develop and implement potential solutions to identified needs. Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:• Support partnerships with local school districts, institutions of higher education, and other pertinent educational stakeholders to increase the quantity and quality of Mississippi's educator workforce through educator pathway innovation and collaboration.• Plan, coordinate, and implement the activities and reporting associated with emerging educator workforce efforts.• Design, facilitate, and lead focus groups, committee meetings, and other engagement activities with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of OTL initiatives.• Research potential funding sources for innovative workforce initiatives and assist with grant writing, management, and/or reporting as needed.• Analyze qualitative data from stakeholder engagement activities and communicate to OTL and MDE leadership stakeholders' needs and capacity to implement OTL initiatives.• Maintain a high level of detail-orientation, collaboration, initiative while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines with accuracy.• Develop and maintain workflows, project plans, and filing systems to ensure the continuity and sustainability of educator workforce initiatives.• Demonstrate excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.• Other duties as assigned.
What you'll need to be Successful: Fluency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel is also preferred. The candidate must possess exceptional listening, problem solving, relational, and organizational skills. The candidate must have the ability to organize efforts across districts, universities, MDE offices, and other education stakeholders into usable and institutional knowledge products. The candidate must have a high level of initiative and confidence in designing, organizing, and facilitating stakeholder engagement activities.
Preferred Qualifications: Typically requires a relevant Master's Degree, may require certification, and 4+ years of experience.
