AIM Independent Living Center is committed to empowering individuals with disabilities and strengthening communities through advocacy, education, support services, and inclusive programming. Our internship program is designed to provide students with meaningful, hands-on experience while supporting AIMโ€™s mission-driven work across the region.

Internship Overview

AIM is seeking four Summer Interns for a paid internship opportunity focused on professional development, community engagement, and workforce readiness. Interns will gain valuable real-world experience while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative nonprofit environment.

This internship is intended for local students who are passionate about learning, community impact, and exploring careers in nonprofit and human services fields.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must:

  • Reside in Steuben, Chemung, or Schuyler County
  • Be entering their senior year of high school, or be a recent high school graduate attending their freshman year of college in Fall 2026
  • Possess valid documentation for employment
  • Have reliable transportation

Internship Tracks

Interns may be placed within one of the following departments based on interest and organizational needs:

  • Nonprofit Administration
  • Information Technology (IT)
  • Facilities
  • Programming

Weekly Schedule

  • Part-time:10โ€“20 hours per week
