Senior Program Manager III in Rensselaer, NY

The Senior Program Manager III is responsible for managing the successful technical transfer of client projects and products to Curia. The individual may also be responsible for managing the successful delivery of scope expansion for existing Curia customers and/or the successful delivery of operational projects at the site. The individual must be able to effectively manage, lead, assign work, and solve problems both technically and managerially in a dynamic manufacturing setting. This individual has strong personal leadership skills to influence those that do not directly report to them. The individual functions as both a customer advocate and site liaison between all functional departments.

Responsibilities

  • Intervene when necessary to guide conflict resolution and redirect efforts to improve team performance. Collaborate with teams across the organization to break down barriers in order to develop and achieve organizational goals

  • Assign roles and duties to best match individuals' skills, potential and long-term developmental needs with the organization's needs and objectives

  • Develop cross-functional, cross-department teams that realize synergies to achieve results and synthesize different perspectives into a cohesive organizational strategy

  • Foster an environment that reinforces personal accountability and commitment to achieving objectives

  • Set goals and prioritize objectives according to those most critical to business success. Foresee the long-term positive and negative impact of potential plans and develop approaches for overcoming barriers

  • Review relevant data to determine if broad initiatives are on track for desired results; redirect programs as needed to ensure optimal success

  • Leverage broad, deep business expertise to lead the organization in its achievement of superior financial results

  • Anticipate industry trends and identify potential issues to redirect team's strategies to ensure success

  • Foster a business environment that encourages continuous learning and rewards strong business and technical skills

  • Promote the use of best-in-class practices to ensure leading edge technical delivery

  • Foster and environment in which commitment to quality and customer service is a top priority

  • Seek to understand the main business drivers of current and potential customers, and tailor broad business strategies and solutions accordingly. Lead the organization to effectively respond to emerging trends in customers' needs and expectations

  • Stay abreast of best practices and institutes internal standards to ensure that Curia's customer service is, and remains, unparalleled in the industry

  • Provide mentoring and guidance to employees on techniques for gaining support and agreement in challenging situations. Involve others across the organization to present ideas and recommendations in a manner that clearly links to business priorities

  • Define expectations, goals and future states to generate excitement and action from others. Take a strategic perspective on a project portfolio when planning programs to ensure long-term benefit for Curia

  • Maintain an oversight of program milestones to ensure achievement of company objectives

  • Provide Guidance and support to others in managing project/program risks and developing contingency plan and solutions. Set and oversee overall standards for program quality and sustainability. Evaluate effects of multiple complex issues/problems and potential solutions and direct the resolution

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or Science related field

  • Minimum 5-8 years' experience in program management or related field, depending on job level

  • Ability to champion creative solutions that increase competitive advantage in the marketplace

  • Ability to apply expert knowledge of industry conditions and opportunities for competitive advantage to make business recommendations

  • Ability to explain concepts in a clear and logical manner, utilizing relevant examples and illustrations

  • Ability to respond to concerns or objections and shape communication messages to address them

  • Ability to develop ideas and solutions for simple problems while contributing to solutions for complex problems

  • Ability to draw upon relevant experience to assist in the implementation of ideas and solutions effectively and efficiently

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • May be required to pass Occupational Health Screening

Pay Range: $96,000-$119,400/yr.

Education, experience, location and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
