Job Summary

The Program Director is responsible for providing leadership and program coordination for the students and faculty in the EMS program. This position is also responsible for fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with institutional and accrediting mandates, and supporting student academic progress.

Responsibilities
  • Engage in retention activities, including identifying at‑risk students.
  • Document and communicate with students and faculty regarding attendance and progress.
  • Assist students with academic advising and mentor instructors on effective counseling.
  • Ensure student documents meet clinical placement standards by delegating to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist the Regional Managing Director with preparation of reports for state and federal agencies; maintain supply inventory and requisitions.
  • Carry out departmental functions, participate in professional meetings and events, and create effective internal communication.
  • Actively participate in faculty and staff recruitment, hiring, training, and mentoring; may be required to teach when needed.
  • Build a strong team through open communication and collaborative decision‑making.
  • Collaborate with program advisory committees and maintain positive communications within the career field.
  • Coordinate special topic workshops and assist students with navigating Platinum as needed.
  • Coach students through academic challenges using available resources.
  • Plan programs from start to finish, including identifying processes, deadlines, and milestones.
  • Assist students in preparation to challenge the National Registry exam after program completion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge – Skills – Abilities
  • Experience managing teams through long, complex program implementations.
  • Knowledge of current program management methods and best practices.
  • Strong problem‑solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Experience with industry‑standard project management software and tools.
  • Ability to monitor performance and collaborate with program teams to improve processes.

  • Ability to motivate, guide, and help students complete their program of study and faculty to mentor and educate.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Three (3) years of work experience in a post‑secondary institution.
  • One (1) academic year full‑time teaching experience in a post‑secondary institution.
  • Current and valid registered/licensed instructor status.
Working / Physical Demands

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; to operate a phone, computer keyboard, and other office equipment. Evening or weekend hours, if necessary, may be required to meet deadlines and meet with prospective students. The employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear.
