Job description

Job Title: Mobility Program Coordinator Location: White Plains, NY Type: Contract To Hire Compensation: $27.00 Contractor Work Model: Onsite Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30a-5pm

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruiting families and owners to participate in the Mobility Counseling program.
  • Brief interested families and potential owners on the requirements and goals of the program.
  • Provide pre-counseling and apartment search assistance to help families move into opportunity areas.
  • Process moves, recertifications, interims, ports, rent increases, and update databases accordingly.
  • Prepare files for review and scanning.
  • Assist tenants in developing Personalized Action Plans (PAP) and make referrals based on needs.
  • Monitor tenant’s PAP for goal completion and update Share Point.
  • Follow up with tenants at scheduled intervals after initial move, including home visits at 30 and 120 days, and annual recertification.
  • Ensure families in Areas of Opportunity maintain their tenancies and engage in self-sufficiency activities.
  • Serve as liaison between families, FSS coordinators, HCV caseworkers, HQS inspections, and landlords.
  • Communicate effectively with families, troubleshoot tenancy issues, and assist with landlord/tenant dispute resolution as needed.
  • Update record-keeping systems regarding family attributes.
  • Participate in meetings to provide updates on progress, challenges, and successes.
  • Safeguard confidential and sensitive information per program rules.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social services, human services, education, or a related field plus one year of relevant experience, or a high school diploma with six or more years of full-time paid experience in human services or related fields.
  • Experience working with the public in Housing Choice Voucher Program or similar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply program documents, regulations, and statutes.
  • Ability to work under critical deadlines and re-evaluate priorities as needed.
  • Effective presentation skills and ability to work well with all levels of personnel.
