Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan three times per week, at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.
Role Overview
GM Defense (GMD) is a dynamic and exciting growth opportunity within General Motors! Within GMD, the Integrated Product Support (IPS) organization is responsible for providing aftermarket support to our defense industry customers to ensure customer satisfaction and business growth. As part of the IPS organization, the Sustainment Parts and Service (SPS) Operations team is seeking a Part Order Fulfillment Program Coordinator to help coordinate the program management activities that keep customer commitments on track.
In this role, you will help coordinate part order fulfillment activities, support order flow through internal systems, and work cross functionally with operations, supply chain, finance, logistics, contracts, and program teams to maintain timing, resolve issues, and improve execution.
What You'll Do
  • Coordinate incoming part orders and manage execution from order intake through fulfillment and delivery tracking
  • Support order management activities in SAP and related systems, including order setup, inventory validation, fulfillment coordination, and invoice readiness
  • Collaborate with logistics, packaging, purchasing, finance, contracting, and material management teams to ensure orders progress smoothly and escalate issues as needed
  • Maintain program timing plans, track open risks and issues, and support cross-functional readiness activities related to parts and sustainment execution
  • Monitor operational metrics, identify bottlenecks, and contribute to process improvements as demand increases across future programs and contracts
  • Document and implement processes and procedures to enhance the GMD customer experience and improve operational efficiency

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, operations, or a related field; equivalent experience considered
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and tight deadlines
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting to shifting priorities with flexibility and sound judgment
  • Demonstrated passion for understanding customer needs and delivering an exceptional experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with all levels of GM and Government leadership

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience with SAP or similar enterprise systems
  • Experience supporting government, defense, automotive, aftersales, or service parts operations
  • Familiarity with cross-functional program reviews, risk tracking, and change coordination
  • Experience working with US Army, TACOM, and other DoD functions
  • Understanding of DoD and/or other government/military program management structures and the standards that drive them
