Position Title: Program Coordinator Camp Hawkins ย 


Reports To: Senior Chaplain ย ย 


Summary of the Job:

The Program Coordinator is responsible for planning and administering Camp Hawkins and Matthew's Time according to guidelines provided by GBCHFM. The Program Coordinator should be committed to Sanctuary practice utilizing tools that reinforce our shared language to create a trauma-responsive culture.


Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrate leadership, develop teamwork and function as contributing member of the team.
  2. Provide orientation for new staff.
  3. Process camper intake according to agreed procedure and standards.
  4. Generate and maintain necessary reports, paperwork, program handbooks and manuals in a timely manner.
  5. Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with sources for potential Camp Counselors.
  6. Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships in recruitment of Campers.
  7. Utilize personal safety plan for managing emotions and interactions with staff and clients.
  8. Effectively utilize computer software systems used by the agency and contractors to support client records and requirements.
  9. Ensure program staff achieve all needed training prior to Camp and/or Matthew's Time.
  10. Evaluate program outcomes according to agency goals and benchmarks and provide data to supervisor.
  11. Process payroll in accordance with agreed processes and standards.
  12. Ensure that the camp's core values and mission are upheld in daily operations
  13. Promote Camp Hawkins at events, speaking engagements, job fairs, etc.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor income and expenses with supervisor, operate program within agency budget guidelines with an aim for stewardship, efficiency and accountability.
  2. Participate in agency program for PQI, including facility reviews, utilization reviews, DHS licenses reviews, COA reviews and others.
  3. Foster a camp environment that encourages teamwork, respect, and community.ย 
  4. Set the tone for camp by modeling positive behavior, enthusiasm, and professionalism.ย 
  5. Represent the agency favorably at all times.
  6. Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  1. At least 21 years old.
  2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in related field of the position and one year supervisory experience.
  3. Should be able to follow oral and written instructions.
  4. Adequate training or experience required to perform tasks assigned.
  5. Display the motivation and desire to learn and develop advanced skills.
  6. Strong leadership and organizational skills.ย 
  7. Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Possess conflict resolution and problem solving skills.
  9. Knowledge ย of safety protocols and emergency procedures.ย

  • Agree to abide by all the policies, rules, guidelines and regulations of the Georgia Baptist Children's Homes and Family Ministries, Inc.ย 
  • Exhibit tactfulness and good judgment in dealing with people
  • Familiar with traditional Baptist tenets, customs and practices and shall maintain a compatible lifestyle
  • Meet all employee guidelines and qualifications as outlined by GBCH & FM, license, contracts and accreditation.
  • Have the ability to work in partnership with other members in a team approach
  • Arrive to work on time and as scheduled
  • Achieve and accomplish annual goals assigned by supervisor or provide acceptable documentation as to why goals were not met.ย

  • Complete required staff development hours within the program including 24 hours in child care related training, current CPR, 1st ย ย ย ย ย Aid and approved emergency safety intervention training
