The UCSD Psychiatry Residency Training Program includes General Psychiatry, Geropsychiatry, Combined Family Medicine and Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and the Community Psychiatry Program. The UCSD Community Psychiatry Program is an innovative training program that focuses on public sector mental health, medical leadership and service to community at large. This program encompasses not only the Community Psychiatry Residency Track but also an Advanced Level Community Psychiatry Fellowship and a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Clinical Training Program.
The Community Psychiatry Program Coordinator and Representative (CPPCR) will work under direct supervision of the Executive Director to provide support and assistance to growing Community Psychiatry Programs at UCSD. As Program Coordinator, the CPPCR will be responsible for providing programmatic support in the areas of onboarding and credentialing residents and fellows at various community clinical training sites, recruitment, ranking, scheduling, didactic planning, development and set-up, evaluations, certifications, graduation, and providing fiscal and research support. The program representative, with coordination from the Psychiatry Residency Training Office also processes personnel, payroll and reimbursement documents for the House staff program participants and faculty. CPPCR will also coordinate with all partner Schools of Nursing and will support the placement sites with partnership with UCSD and will develop new relationships. The CPPCR will provide direct administrative support for the Community Psychiatry Program Director, Faculty, and PMHNP Clinical Training Program Directors. This includes calendaring, scheduling meetings, copy editing documents, developing agendas, taking and preparing meeting minutes, and drafting materials. CPPCR will show ingenuity, analytical, administrative and organizational skills to resolve complex, unusual, non-routine issues in timely and satisfactory fashion. The CPPCR will be expected to interface at professional level with faculty and staff at UCSD and with partnership organizations in the community. When appropriate, CPPCR will maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive program and contract information.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS-
Six years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus two years of related experience/training.

Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of health professions education industry.

Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems. Familiarity with the administrative and operational implications in a program.

Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests. Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner. Excellent communication skills to obtain and impart information via the telephone, electronic mail, and in person.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners. Proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders to build relationships and collaboration ensuring our active involvement in public sector mental health systems of care.

Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars / schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision.

Knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triages related technology issues.

Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports. Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems.

Related work experience in mental health program management/direction, and administrative work.

Demonstrated ability to represent program regarding administrative matters at local, state, and national professional conferences and meetings, and representing Community Psychiatry Program at various key stakeholder meetings within the County of San Diego. These will include but not limited to: Aging and Independent Services, Older Adult Council, Adult Systems of Care Council, Children Systems of Care, Council of Community Clinics, Work, Education and Training (WET) program committees, San Diego County Alzheimer's Initiative, and Council on hospitals.

Demonstrated experience in working with non-profit and governmental agencies in collaborative program management and project initiative coordination.

Proven ability to effectively manage high quality partners and network of potential future partners for project growth and development.

High level of copy editing ability and comfort level in manuscript management.

Superior computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, database, illustration, presentation software and applications (these include MS Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publishing and Access, and basics on other products like EndNote, statistical tools (either Stata or SPSS), Webportal and Visual Basic).

Proven ability to initiate, integrate, and prepare all fellows longitudinal and rotational sites, off-service, vacation, and day- to-day schedules; proven ability to resolve scheduling conflicts and/or emergent scheduling crises, and to assure adherence to schedule/call guidelines; and demonstrated experience in coordinating mandatory program-rotation evaluation process in accordance with RRC/ACGME compliance policy.

Ability to serve as an advocate for trainee complaints and resolution. Identify and research problems and provide resolution.

Willing to do occasional travel to conferences and meetings.

Knowledge of UCSD travel/accounting/purchasing processes, tools, and forms.

Knowledge and understanding of the Medical Education process, including undergraduate medical education (medical school), postgraduate residency training, and continuing medical education after residency (with preference of experience with psychiatric training programs).

Demonstrated experience in coordination and scheduling of didactic schedule, guest speakers, journal clubs, and community meetings, including working with Program Director to assign lecture dates to faculty and rescheduling dates, if necessary.

Proven ability to make policies, to determine a course of action, and to implement this action following established policies and procedures.

Demonstrated experience in providing day-to-day management of IT technology (i.e. website, e-newsletter, online survey, etc.).

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $65,125 - $94,858 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $31.19 - $45.43
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
