Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital opened on Jan. 24, 1955 as a 238-bed community hospital. Today, the hospital is a 1,101-bed major academic and referral center with Level I adult trauma (https://www.beaumont.org/services/emergency/trauma) and Level II pediatric trauma (https://www.beaumont.org/services/childrens/specialties/pediatric-trauma) designations. Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital has 43 residency and fellowship programs with 454 residents and fellows. Corewell is the exclusive clinical partner of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, with more than 1,400 Corewell Health doctors on faculty.

Scope of Work

Under direct supervision, the Associate Special Procedure Tech provides direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing Heart and/or Vascular procedures to assist physicians and delivers quality patient/family centered care. The incumbent may be required to perform IV starts, prep patients, monitor hemodynamics, operate equipment, document procedures, vascular access site management, and provide patient/family education.

Qualifications

  • Required Interventional Radiology requires completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT).

  • Required associate’s degree or equivalent-Cath Lab/EP Lab requires employee to be a graduate of a Cardiovascular Technologist program, associate degree in cardiovascular technology/basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, or equivalent training and/or education.

  • Required Clinical experience required through graduation of one of the above listed programs.

  • Preferred Experience in EP, Cath Lab or IR.

  • Employees being considered for Interventional Radiology it is recommended that they have previous experience as Radiology or Interventional Tech.

  • Required -Basic computer skills, math skills, exceptional communication skills, and outstanding customer service skills.

  • Required-Ability to be on site within 30 min for call in tot eh Cath lab IR. Call response time may vary by facility.

  • CRT-Vascular International Radiography (VI) -ARRT-American Register of Radiological Technologist IR Required in 2 years

  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)-American Heart Association Required 180 days from date of hire.

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) -American Heart Association-Upon Hire Required or

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)-American Red Cross-Upon Hire Required.
