Job description

Position Title: Early Childhood Program Associate
Start Date:
2026-2027 school year Preschool Calendar
Part Time:
27-29 hours per week / Early Childhood calendar (August 24 - June 3) at Wildwood Elementary

Rate of Pay:
Early Childhood Program Assistant  $19.00 per hour



Student Level: Early Childhood Preschool: 3-5 years old

Position Summary:

Performs intermediate human support work providing classroom support for children in the early childhood program, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Early Childhood Education Supervisor and Lead Teacher.
Education and /or Experience:  

High school diploma or GED and minimal experience working with students aged birth to age 5.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the lead teacher
  • Work cooperatively with the lead teacher to integrate lessons
  • Model effective adult/child interactions
  • Greet children and parents each morning or afternoon
  • Interact with children as appropriate, such as giving positive feedback to children, comforting children, and participating in program activities.
  • Encourage problem-solving among children using positive reinforcement, redirection, positive role modeling, and conflict mediation.
  • Put in writing any accident or incident concerning staff or children and notify the coordinator or lead teacher.
  • Direct a group of children as indicated by the Supervisor, lead teacher, or designee.
  • Follow all building, district, and program health and safety procedures.
  • Assist other staff when necessary with prep work for activities.
  • Attend assigned staff meetings and in-service training.
  • Prepare a daily snack.
  • Other duties as assigned
