Location: Newport, MN

Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week + On-Call

Monday–Friday | 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Reports to: Program Manager


Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized, compassionate, and detail-oriented Program Coordinator to oversee independent apartment programs serving individuals with physical and mental health disabilities. This role is responsible for supervising staff, coordinating services, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting residents in achieving safety, independence, and community integration.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience in direct support services, staff supervision, program coordination, and person-centered care.


Key Responsibilities:


Program Oversight & Resident Support

Coordinate and oversee person-centered services focused on safety, independence, and community integration.

Monitor service delivery and ensure compliance with county, state, and federal regulations.

Coordinate appointments and healthcare-related services for residents.

Maintain accurate documentation, case files, audits, and program records.

Assist with budgeting, rental collection, and overall site operations.

Ensure program sites are safe, clean, and properly maintained.

Provide on-call support and staff consultation as needed.

Staff Leadership & Supervision

Supervise and support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).

Coordinate staffing schedules and ensure appropriate coverage.

Conduct staff training, coaching, and performance evaluations.

Assist HR with staffing needs, hiring recommendations, payroll verification, and employee relations.

Support staff development and ensure compliance with resident care plans and intervention strategies.

Mediate staff concerns and maintain positive team dynamics.

Requirements:

Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field + 1 year of direct care experience
  • Associate degree + 2 years of related experience
  • Human Services diploma + 3 years of related experience
  • OR equivalent combination of training and 4 years of direct care experience

Additional Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in disability or senior services
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Gmail, and Chrome
  • Tech-savvy and adaptable
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must pass background studies and complete required training
Working Conditions:

This position requires flexibility and regular travel within the community. The Program Coordinator may work in high-pressure situations involving crisis management, deadlines, and interaction with individuals who may be emotionally upset or verbally aggressive. Exposure to infectious diseases, odors, dust, and frequent interruptions may occur.
