Job description

SAIC is seeking a highly motivated Program Analyst to support our explosives testing, inventory tracking, and production activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth project execution by coordinating logistics, maintaining accurate inventory records, organizing administrative documentation, and supporting the team in meeting critical mission objectives.

This role combines administrative, operational, and analytical responsibilities to enhance efficiency and support the successful development, production, and testing of our explosives-related programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:
    • Maintain and track inventory of explosives, equipment, tools, and production materials, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
    • Monitor inventory levels, coordinate reorders, and conduct routine audits of physical stock.
    • Work with the warehouse and logistics teams to ensure safe storage, handling, and transportation of materials in compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
  • Project Tracking and Coordination:
    • Maintain comprehensive project schedules and track milestones, deliverables, and resource utilization across all explosives testing and production support efforts.
    • Monitor project timelines and budgets, flagging potential risks or delays to the program manager.
    • Provide status updates and reports on schedules, costs, and inventory to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Testing Support:
    • Coordinate the preparation and logistics for explosives testing operations, including arranging equipment, materials, personnel, and safety documentation.
    • Support on-site testing activities by managing inventory needs, documenting test setup, and preparing pre- and post-test administrative reports.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Organize meetings, generate agendas, and take detailed notes for key activities related to explosives testing and production.
    • Document and track safety protocols, including those related to the storage, handling, and transportation of classified or hazardous materials.
    • Manage communication channels across internal teams (engineering, logistics, safety) and vendors to ensure program alignment.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and federal/state regulatory compliance for handling and testing explosives and related materials.
    • Maintain accurate records for audits, certifications, training, and safety compliance related to testing environments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field (relevant work experience may be substituted for degree).
  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar role, including project coordination, inventory management, or administrative operations.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with an ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Primavera) and standard office applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Experience with inventory management tools and software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with government or DoD processes, regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with explosives management, safety policies, or testing/logistics procedures.
  • Knowledge of ATF, DOT, and ITAR compliance requirements as they apply to the handling and transport of explosives or hazardous materials.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and production tracking systems/ERP software.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and protocols for explosives production and testing facilities.
  • Experience working within a classified or cleared environment is a plus.
  • Strong technical writing skills for reports, presentations, and risk documentation.
