Care Career is seeking a travel Paramedic for a travel job in Portage, Wisconsin.

Paramedic – 

Location: Portage, WI
Facility: Aspirus Divine Savior
Specialty: Paramedic
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours/week
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Schedule: 96 hours per 2-week rotation

  • 2 × 24-hour shifts per week if assigned to a 24-hour base
  • 4 × 12-hour shifts per week if assigned to a 12-hour truck

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of paramedic experience; 3 years preferred
  • Interfacility transfer experience required
  • Wisconsin EMT Paramedic Certification
  • Active Wisconsin Driver’s License in good standing
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
  • Wisconsin CCP (Critical Care Paramedic) endorsement preferred
  • MI Paramedic Certification required; NREMT-P candidates may be eligible for reciprocity
  • AHA or ARC certifications required
  • High school diploma and successful completion of an EMS paramedic program
  • Associate Degree or Paramedic Certificate required

Responsibilities:
Provide basic and advanced life support, assess and stabilize ill or injured patients, monitor vital signs and patient conditions, document patient care, initiate interventions according to protocols, assist with treatments and tests, and communicate patient status with physicians, RNs, and the interdisciplinary care team.

Unit/Work Environment:

  • Collaborative interdisciplinary team environment
  • Ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure
  • Crew configurations may include EMT/Medic, Medic/Medic, RN/EMT, or RN/Medic
  • Zoll EMS Charts is used for documentation; training provided
  • Travelers may float to other locations in the North and Central regions based on staffing needs
  • No regular on-call requirement
  • Every other weekend as needed
  • Holidays as needed and available

Orientation: First week of orientation will be in Wausau, WI.

Additional Requirements:

  • Contractors must reside outside the 50-mile radius; radius rule expires 08/28
  • Contract is eligible for up to 36 hours of unbillable low-census hours
  • Travelers may be placed on call for low-census hours; these hours count toward the 36-hour allowance
  • Call-back minimum is 2 hours if called back to the facility
  • During flu season, travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccination must wear a mask at all times per facility policy
