Job description

Program Assistant

CEO is seeking a Program Assistant to provide classroom, building, program, and administrative support services to the Head Start program to ensure effective and efficient operations within the assigned location.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform a broad variety of administrative tasks to support the Center/location, as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with the site supervisor to provide classroom and site support coverage to assigned classrooms and locations.
  • Communicate positively and effectively with parents, children, and colleagues while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Work effectively with the Center Manager/Site Supervisor to be an active participant in meetings and events and demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Assist with collection and entering data into the computer, utilizing appropriate database.
  • Assist with the completion of program reporting, data collection, and other administrative tasks, as assigned.
  • Upkeep of building office equipment and ordering of supplies.
  • Work with CEO programs and staff, as well as community agencies, to refer families to CEO programs and services as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong Computer Skills, including a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • An ability to work independently and to manage multiple priorities.
  • Possess prior clerical experience.
  • Valid and clear NYS Driver's License.

  • $19 per hour- 35 hours a week
  • 10-month schedule (September- June)- Follows Troy City School District Calendar
