Job description

Summary To recruit and engage BGSU students to serve as nonpartisan poll workers in future elections, with a primary focus on campus tabling and peer outreach. Career Readiness Competencies: Communication Critical Thinking Leadership Professionalism Essential Functions Staff recruitment tables across campus to share information about poll worker opportunities. Engage students in conversation, answer questions, and provide accurate information on eligibility and training.

Deliver short presentations to groups of 1-30 students about serving as a poll worker. Support other programs and processes associated with the Poll Worker Program (e.g. workshops, events, training logistics, communication with county boards of elections)

Assist with outreach through events, class visits, and digital promotion. Complete poll worker training through the program to be knowledgeable and prepared. Help track student interest and participation for program reporting.

Represent the Marvin Center and the Poll Worker Program in a professional, nonpartisan manner. Minimum Qualifications Current BGSU student in good academic standing. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Comfortable engaging peers at tables, events, and in group settings (1-30 people). Dependable, professional, and able to work independently. Interest in civic engagement, leadership, or community service preferred.

Additional Information The position will remain open until October 1, though positions may be filled sooner. We will review applications, interview candidates, and make hiring decisions on a rolling basis. Interested applicants should submit a resume.
