Job description

Jiffy Trip is currently searching to fill our new Shift Leader positions in all of our stores. Maybe you are the perfect fit!The Shift Leader works with the Store Manager and Assistant Manager to perform various tasks involved in the overall management of the store, including employee task completion, store cleanliness and excellent customer service delivered by the team members on their shift. The Shift Leader is responsible for the overall functions and appearance of the store in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Manager.

The Shift Leader will perform the following duties: 1. Adheres to all established policies and procedures and ensures all team members on the shift adhere to the same.2. Ensures that each guest receives outstanding service by providing a guest-friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every guest and maintaining outstanding standards and solid product knowledge.3

Completes assigned tasks and ensures all team members complete all assigned tasks.4. Ensures floor is swept and mopped appropriately during shift. Ensures team members always use wet floor sign for safety and empties trash and replaces liner as needed.5

Monitors restrooms, delegates assignments and works alongside other team members to ensure cleanliness of the store and merchandise is well stocked. 6. Maintains all merchandising standards, display presentations, signage and inventory levels.7

Immediately reports all equipment malfunctions to JT Listens and Store Manager.8. Maintains store in a manner consistent with Health Department Standards. 9

Understands and demonstrates knowledge of what equipment and breakers are turned off at night.10. Proficient in knowledge of power/equipment failure procedures and how to open the register in the event of a power failure.11. Appropriately operates the Point of Sale Register and ensures all team members are well trained to the same

12. Works with Manager to plan and assign shift tasks and assignments.13. Follows Vendor check-in procedures.14

Ensures all employees participate in the Secret Shopper Program and score well on interactions by following all Jiffy Trip Store standards and procedures. 15. Ensures all employees on shift consistently follows the Alcohol and Cigarette policy and procedure, ensuring no age restricted items are sold to under-age customers.16

Ensures all employees on the shift have a valid unexpired license to sell alcohol. Education: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) preferredExperience: Knowledge of health department standards is helpful. Previous experience with cash register and credit card machine preferred.

Must have the ability to exchange currency at point of sale.Working Conditions:This job operates in a retail setting, usually indoors in a controlled climate. This role routinely requires standing for long periods of time. This position may be subjected to irregular hours

Position may require lifting or carrying of items up to 50 pounds or higher. Position may also have exposure to possible hazards such as equipment that could cause burns, exposure to extreme hot/cold, exposure to dust/fumes, exposure to moving mechanical parts and exposure to potential electrical conditions. .
