Job description

Avionics Software Engineer

Security Clearance Required: A Final DoD Top Secret Clearance

This position does not provide a telework option. Candidate must be willing to work on-site in Ridgecrest, CA.

CRL provides a signing bonus and potential relocation assistance for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of all software aspects of advanced avionics research and development systems.
  • Work with program management and technical teams to integrate new capabilities, derive requirements, and develop program integrated roadmaps.
  • Analyze manufacturers' proposals as permitted by law and regulation.
  • Support program software effort with the coordination of technical program status and execution throughout the design, engineering, integration, test and program execution process with the manufacturer(s).
  • Develop, execute, monitor, and report status on program efforts, including analysis of test data.
  • Serve as the mid-level Software Engineer for program technical execution, coordination, and communication of concerns with program management and technical leadership.
  • Coordinate with government leads, manufacturer leads, engineering leads, technical subject matter experts, and program manager involved in program planning and execution.
  • Support and provide insight to determine the effectiveness of program execution and recommend modifications to processes for program activities.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.

Required Experience: Candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in Software Engineering.

Allowable Experience/Education Substitutions: Experience cannot be substituted for education.

Desired Experience:

  • Candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in DoD military platforms/systems.
  • Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
  • Candidate should have demonstrated good oral and written communication skills.
  • Candidate should have experience working in a dynamic, schedule constrained, and complex security environment.

Security Clearance Required: A Final DoD Top Secret Clearance.

Estimated Travel: 15%
