POSITION PURPOSE:

To Provide an efficient, exceptional dining experience with first-class customer service. As a Dietary Aide you will assist residents during scheduled mealtimes. Dietary aides ensure residents receive the high standard of care by providing the appropriate items for each meal in accordance to their dietary needs, ensuring the safety of food and equipment by recording temperatures, and ensuring the kitchen and dietary equipment is clean and sanitized. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:

  • Removes soiled dishes from pervious shifts that were leftover.
  • Prepares/provides ice water according to the established procedure.
  • Refills salt, pepper, and sugar shakers whenever necessary.
  • Prepare milk pitchers and cold juices.
  • Help serve meals.
  • Fills drink glasses for meal service.
  • Cleans off counters, picks up dishes and utensils and cleans tabletops.
  • Returns soiled dishes and utensils to kitchen and loads dishwashing machine.
  • Pick up paper and trash from floor.
  • Check the supply of coffee cups at service window and replenish when needed.
  • Check windows, ledges, sills, refrigerator, milk cooler, ice machine, coffee urn and tables for cleanliness. Follow cleaning schedule by checking each day for job assignment in routine cleaning.
  • Ability to maintain a pleasant attitude towards residents, staff, visitors and co-workers.
  • Willing to develop self toward better performance and changing work habits as position demands.
  • Respect Residents’ Rights and comply with Adult Abuse Policy.
  • Comply with laws regulating Protected Health Information
  • Other duties as assigned by Dietary Manager/Head Cook/Administrator.
