Direct Support ProfessionalJob Summary

Rockwell Care Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and throughout the community.

Direct Support Professionals assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, community participation, and skill development while following individualized support plans. This position works closely with individuals to promote independence and support their personal goals.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Provide companionship and emotional support
  • Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
  • Prepare meals and assist with meal planning
  • Perform light housekeeping
  • Provide medication reminders
  • Transport individuals to appointments, community activities, and errands
  • Support participation in recreational, educational, and community activities
  • Assist individuals in developing daily living and independent living skills
  • Follow individualized support plans and program guidelines
  • Complete required documentation accurately and on time
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and family members, as appropriate
  • Follow established procedures during emergencies
Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Have access to a reliable, insured vehicle
