Job description

Position: Residential Aide

Program: January Center

Location: Uncasville

Salary: $20.00/hour

Schedule: Part Time, 2nd shift,

Program Summary:

Adult men under the supervision of the Department of Correction or the Court Support Services Division receive residential treatment to address a history of problematic sexual behavior. In addition to treatment, clients are supported with psycho-educational and case management services. The programโ€™s primary goal is to promote positive behavioral change and reduce the risk of reoffending.

Position Summary:

This Residential Aide will utilize a strengths-based & client-centered approach, providing structure and supervision to justice involved Men/Women as they re-enter the community after a period of incarceration. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals in recovery and/or those who are justice involvedย orย have a client/customer support background and be highly motivated to help others make positive change. An ability to be both structured and compassionate while maintaining professional and respectful boundaries is required.

Working within Adult Services, the Residential Aide works with Community Justice program staff to help to rehabilitate, educate, and successfully guide clients from incarceration back into the community.ย 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GEDย withย 2+ years relevant experience as a Residential Aide or equivalent or an Associate's Degree
  • Valid Driverโ€™s Licenseย 
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required

Orientation:ย 

If selected for employment with The Connection, newly hired employees will be required to attend a two (2) day mandatory New Hire Orientation at our Roscommon office located in Middletown.
