Classroom Aide - Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP)

Qualifications:
  • Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check with MSP, a background check with LARA, and pass a TB Test.
  • Experience working in early childhood education preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentational skills.
  • Ability to cooperate successfully as a member of a team.

  • Work effectively, make decisions and problem solve collaboratively within a team.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist in instructing and supervising children in classroom activities.
  • Assist teacher in incorporating required activities into lesson plans that support children's development.
  • Help teacher prepare activities that support lesson plans.
  • Maintain open communication with parents.
  • Help to maintain a clean and organized learning environment.
  • Engage in continuing education and professional development activities such as training, workshops, and classes to meet required qualifications.
  • Perform all other related duties and documentation requirements as assigned.
  • Must be willing to fill in for food prep when needed and the following responsibilities include:
    • Responsible for food handling and classroom delivery as determined by menu and assignment.
    • Ability to complete State of Michigan approved Allergen Training Program.
    • Serve students in a friendly manner.
    • Responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary work area.
    • Responsible for organizing kitchen area.
    • Other duties as assigned by Administrator.
