Job description

Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the Credit Analysis work at Native American Bank and leading the analysis and preparation of credit memos for complex transactions. In addition, this role will advise the development of credit policy, procedures, and practices.
Responsibilities
  • Lead special credit department projects related to process improvement, systems implementation and management.
  • Participate in commercial application screening, loan structuring, and covenant setting with focus on adherence to loan policy.
  • Provide training for and oversee work of Credit Analyst Team.
  • In concert with CCO and VP of Credit, participate in calculation of the bank's Allowance for Loan & Lease Loss Calculation.
  • In concert with Chief Credit Officer and VP-Credit help develop new policies and procedures related to credit department.
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in credit analysis.
  • Performs functions specific to the position and other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications
  • Well-developed credit analysis and analytical skills
  • Well-developed knowledge of economics, accounting and finance.
  • Well-developed knowledge of credit administration, policy and procedures.
  • Well-developed knowledge of loan documentation and process.
  • Well-developed knowledge of risk analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective technical report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications e.g., Word, Excel Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work and handle multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail, self-motivation and the ability to take initiative.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business-related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of banking experience in advanced commercial credit analysis and/or lending activities in Lending analysis is required for this position.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
