Job Summary
The Account Manager - Mechanical Equipment is responsible for providing customer-driven technical expertise and product selection guidance for customers within the Mechanical Equipment Business Unit. This is an outside sales position focused on compressed air systems including - air compressors, vacuum, low pressure blowers, thermal heat exchangers and services, driving revenue growth through account development, strategic sales initiatives, and technical consultation. The Account Manager will work independently to cultivate and manage customer relationships while ensuring maximum gross margin and business unit success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships by providing value-added services and technical expertise.
  • Manage and grow existing accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Negotiate with customers and suppliers to establish competitive quotes and orders that ensure both customer satisfaction and maximum profitability.
  • Drive sales efforts across multiple sites, ensuring comprehensive customer coverage and engagement.

Customer Relations & Support
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, providing technical support, product recommendations, and pricing updates.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Proactively seek solutions to better serve customers and enhance their experience.
  • Ensure CRM system is maintained and updated with accurate customer interactions and sales activity.

Strategic Account Management
  • Leverage consultative selling techniques to develop and manage strategic accounts.
  • Build and maintain executive-level customer interfaces, fostering long-term business relationships.
  • Participate in sales strategy development, including market penetration efforts and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Develop technical proposals and provide customized solutions to meet client needs.

Collaboration & Training
  • Work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to align product offerings with market demands.
  • Assist in training new employees and participate in company-led training sessions and meetings.
  • Represent the company in industry events, conferences, and training programs as needed.

Requirements
QualificationsEducation & Experience:
  • 5+ years of sales experience with industrial customers, preferably in industries such as oil & gas, chemical & refining, power generation, and wastewater.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field preferred (or equivalent experience in technical sales of rotating equipment).
  • 5+ years of experience in sales and marketing in refining facilities and plants.
  • 3+ years of experience in strategic account management and development.
  • Proven ability to secure new accounts and expand into new markets.

  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to align solutions with customer needs.
  • Experience developing technical proposals and managing complex sales cycles.
  • Ability to build and maintain executive-level relationships.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
