Augusta University's Medical College of Georgia, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, as an experienced OB-GYN. The selected candidate will be responsible for testing, diagnosing, treating, and monitoring diseases and issues related to women's health, providing medical counsel and support to women during pregnancy and childbirth, and providing inpatient/outpatient obstetrics and gynecology services throughout assigned clinic locations, including infant delivery and related surgical procedures. This position does not meet the requirements to be on a tenure track.
Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities - 90%
  • Performing a wide range of tests, including pap smears, pelvic, and breast exams.
  • Diagnosing and prescribing treatments for disorders and diseases.
  • Conducting routine check-ups on patients.
  • Monitoring and treating expectant mothers during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.
  • Recording medical histories.
  • Educating patients about disease prevention and detection, and reproductive health.
  • Collaborating with other medical and non-medical personnel.
  • Keeping up to date with current practices and innovations.
  • Provide clinical coverage and resident supervision in Labor and Delivery.
  • Provision of patient care in ambulatory setting and in surgical theater.
Resident Education - 10%
Education of residents/students and supervision is included when in ambulatory setting and surgery.
Required Qualifications
MD or equivalent. Must be licensed or eligible for license in the state of Georgia and have current DEA. Must be board-certified or board eligible as well as eligible for an active Georgia State medical license.
Assistant Professor - Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training.
Associate Professor - Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Professor - Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
- Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
- Evidence of ability as a teacher;
- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
- Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.
The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.
Assistant Professor - Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
