Position Summary: Field Engineer I

A Field Engineer is the technical expert to the Tech Ops team through the lifecycle of a project. They are responsible to ensure a project is executed with excellence as well as meets all design requirements laid out in the scope of work. This is done through working with the team in checking, documenting, configuring and programming audio video and network equipment throughout its installation process. The Field Engineer is the technical liaison with the client to obtain sign off and train at the end of each project.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Be the technical expert in the quality control process of each project.
  • Interface & maintain ongoing dialogue for projects with Project management, Clients, Sales, CAD, and Tech Ops team members
  • Ensure well executed system installation through detailed documentation, including but not limited to:
  • Review and mark up of AutoCAD drawings
  • IP and network documentation
  • System commissioning documentation
  • I Identify and confirm all cabling and hardware is installed and functioning correctly
  • Direct technical teams on installation challenges
  • Project manager liaison for engineering inquires
  • Assist and perform ongoing technical assessment and support for tech ops during integration, install, & commissioning
  • Meet with vendors/prospective vendors to help evaluate products
  • Commissioning Commercial Audio Video, Lighting, shades, and security systems
  • Other duties assigned as needed

To join our band, you'll need the following experience:

  • 2+ years' experience in AV systems design
  • Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred
  • Must be able to interpret and mark up construction and technical drawings
  • Experience working with clients in a professional manner
  • Must be able to effectively explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Highly skilled in oral and written communication - clear, direct, detailed.
  • Independent work ethic highly motivated to getting a job done right
  • A thorough, demonstrable understanding of systems integration techniques
  • MS Office - able to use Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access proficiently without training
  • Must be proficient in configuring and programming AV , lighting and home networking systems

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel may be required dependent on business needs

Pay Rate:$110,000 - $120,000/year depending on background and experience.
