Job SummaryTYLin is seeking a dedicated and skilled Rail + Transit Structural Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the structural design of critical transportation facilities and structures, including stations, maintenance facilities and line structures. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions that support the region's transit networks.Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and develop detailed structural designs of rail and transit facilities, line structure component repairs, ensuring compliance with the latest industry codes and client standards.

  • Prepare design calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications for stations, maintenance facilities, elevated guideways, and other transit structures.

  • Conduct structural analysis and develop design solutions that enhance safety, durability, and constructability.

  • Work closely within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and in close coordination contractors, to integrate structural designs into overall project requirements.

  • Perform structural inspections, field assessments and condition evaluations for transit-related projects.

  • Ensure designs meet the requirements of MTA, Amtrak, NJ Transit, and other regional transit agencies.

  • Support project management activities, including budget tracking, scheduling, and client coordination.

  • Regularly engage with clients to present design options, progress reports, and technical solutions. Collect and incorporate client feedback into project deliverables to ensure final designs meet or exceed client requirements and expectations.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

  • 5+ years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on rail and transit projects.

  • Strong knowledge of steel, concrete, and masonry design.

  • Familiarity with industry standards such as AREMA, AASHTO, NYC/NYS Building Code, and MTA design guidelines.

  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE or similar) and CAD/BIM tools (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation).

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in NY (or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe).

  • Experience on MTA C&D/NYCT Projects is required.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
