Current rate of pay:
Regular substitute = $140 per day
Permanent substitute = $165 per day
Long-term substitute = $140 per day for days 1-10 then $165 per day for days 11+
Requirements:
  • Must hold a bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
  • License is valid for substitute teaching in all grades of the public school, Pre-K to Grade 12.
  • NOTE: Sub licenses are valid for 5 years and may be renewed with payment of registration fees.
  • If you hold a valid Professional Educator License or Educator License with Stipulations that requires a bachelor's
  • degree for issuance, you are qualified to be a substitute teacher. You do not need to hold a substitute license as
  • well.
