SOFTWARE DEVELOPER / SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Quantum-Systems is seeking a visionary Software Architect to define, own, and evolve end-to-end software architectures spanning embedded systems, ground control software, and cloud platforms for our cutting-edge drone technology.

Responsibilities
  • Define, own, and evolve comprehensive end-to-end software architectures covering embedded systems, ground control software, and cloud platforms
  • Collaborate closely with the Lead Software Architect on technical strategy and direction
  • Guide and mentor agile development teams on architectural best practices and technical decisions
  • Ensure consistency, scalability, security, and performance across all software layers
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks for potential adoption
  • Support integration efforts between airborne systems, ground stations, and cloud infrastructure
  • Create and maintain architectural documentation and technical specifications
  • Conduct code and design reviews to ensure architectural compliance
  • Drive technical innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with product management to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a Software Architect or in a similar technical leadership role
  • Strong experience with embedded systems, real-time software, or IoT platforms
  • Experience with cloud platforms and distributed systems (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages (C++, Python, Java, or similar)
  • Deep understanding of software design patterns, architectural styles, and system integration
  • Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Excellent German and English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the aerospace, drone, or robotics industry
  • Knowledge of safety-critical systems and standards (DO-178C, ISO 26262)
