Professional school bus drivers are licensed individuals responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, as well as to extracurricular activities and field trips. They follow designated routes, maintain schedules, and ensure the safety and well-being of students while on the bus. In addition to driving, they enforce safety rules, perform routine vehicle checks, and communicate with school staff and parents as needed. School bus drivers must meet specific licensing and training requirements, including background checks and specialized driving tests. Their role is essential in providing safe and reliable transportation for students.

Familiarity with vehicle inspection checklists, two-way radios, and route management systems is typically required. Excellent communication, patience, and strong situational awareness help drivers effectively manage students and respond to unexpected events.
