Job description

Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of golf cars, utility and personal transportation vehicles, side-by-sides, all-terrain vehicles, professional turf-care equipment, and ground support equipment. Textron Specialized Vehicles markets products under several different brands. Its vehicles are found in environments ranging from golf courses to factories, airports to planned communities, and theme parks to hunting preserves.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop part containment package components and packaging systems and methods that best meet the needs of internal and external customers to support strategic business needs for growth, quality, and productivity.
  • Focus on innovating packaging improvements for new and existing "ship with" accessories along with finished goods to improve damage rates across all modes of shipment.
  • Specify and develop test procedures for all packages, package components, and packaging solutions to ensure we meet all necessary safety, quality, and density.
  • Manage the packaging relationships with outside parts suppliers and packaging contractors and monitor contractor performance to ensure projects are executed on time and on budget.
  • Provide support to new product and manufacturing teams with insight into logistical impacts of design modifications.
  • Analyze shipping variance data provided by customers to implement improvement into packaging and securement of finished goods.
  • Seek, support, and coordinate packaging cost reduction opportunities and support other continuous improvement opportunities within the department.
  • Communicate issues involving risks to schedules, costs, and quality on a timely basis to mitigate risks and implement solutions.
  • Seek and recommend suppliers for all forms of packaging to develop best methods.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, or other engineering science required
Years of Experience: P1- 0-2 years of experience required/ P2- 3 or more years of experience required
Software Knowledge: MS Products, CAD skills, PDM systems, SAP, Teamcenter, Power BI preferred
