Job description

Position Overview

Harmony Help Network is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our team in New Haven, Connecticut. This full-time role primarily involves providing comprehensive mental health services remotely, offering therapeutic support and guidance to individuals and families who are often underserved or in need of specialized care. As an LPC, you will play a vital role in fostering emotional well-being and personal development.

About the Organization

Harmony Help Network is a progressive community health clinic committed to improving mental health care accessibility. Our mission is to create a safe and nurturing environment where clients can explore their emotions and develop coping strategies. We recognize the importance of equitable access to mental health services, and our dedicated team of professionals strives to make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve. We focus on collaboration, support, and continuous improvement to cultivate a culture of wellness and understanding.

Work Environment

This position allows for a flexible work setting, enabling our counselors to operate remotely while still being part of a supportive and innovative healthcare team. At Harmony Help Network, we encourage a balanced work-life dynamic, allowing you to schedule your sessions in a way that accommodates your personal needs. Our virtual structure utilizes advanced communication technologies and electronic medical records (EMR) software to streamline patient care and documentation, ensuring you can focus on providing quality therapeutic services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of clients to develop individualized therapy plans tailored to their unique needs.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused short therapy, to address various mental health issues.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to individuals, couples, families, and groups in a remote environment, fostering an atmosphere of trust and openness.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold best practices aligned with legal and ethical standards within the mental health field.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for clients and holistic treatment approaches.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development initiatives and training workshops to stay updated on the latest advancements in mental health research and treatment methodologies.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will serve often include individuals and families from diverse backgrounds who face a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Many of our clients have limited access to traditional mental health services, and your role will be crucial in bridging that gap. You will focus on providing culturally sensitive care that acknowledges and respects each client’s unique life experiences and perspectives.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Active and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in Connecticut.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a counseling capacity, ideally within a clinical setting.
  • Strong understanding of the ethical and legal standards applicable to the mental health profession.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of establishing rapport with a wide variety of clientele.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team context to support positive client outcomes.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and related technologies is a plus.
Preferred Experience
  • Specialization in specific areas, such as family therapy, couples therapy, substance use disorders, or trauma-informed care, is highly desired.
  • Experience in providing outreach and educational services to the community can enhance your application.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, with yearly compensation ranging from USD 70,000 to 90,000, dependent upon experience and caseload availability. Our comprehensive benefits package includes access to health, dental, and vision insurance, alongside malpractice insurance coverage. You will also receive support for client referrals and assistance with billing and documentation to ease your administrative burden.

Career Growth Opportunities

At Harmony Help Network, we are passionate about professional development and supporting your career trajectory. Our organization encourages counselors to partake in ongoing education, training, and mentorship opportunities to enhance their skills and advance within our clinical structure. With a focus on continuous learning, we aspire to foster leaders in the mental health field who can contribute to innovative practices and community health initiatives.

Why Join Our Team

Becoming part of the Harmony Help Network team means aligning with a mission focused on accessibility and quality care in mental health. You will work alongside a diverse and talented group of professionals who are equally dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our clients. This environment offers the chance to engage deeply with your work, cultivate meaningful relationships, and experience personal satisfaction through impactful counseling practices.
