Job description

JOB TITLE: Ejection Seat Technician - DEFENSE
LOCATION: NAS New Orleans Belle Chasse, LA
PAY RATE: $35-47/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Clearance: Secret Clearance required prior to start (interim acceptable).

  • Shift: Full-time, onsite, first shift (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM)

  • Overtime: As needed

  • Travel: Possible international travel to U.S. military bases in Scotland, Greece, or Kuwait

  • Industry: Aerospace / Defense / Aviation

Qualifying Questions:

  • Are you a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance?

Summary: 

  • Perform inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational support of aircraft egress systems and associated components.

  • Maintain aircraft seats and canopy ejection systems, gaseous O2 systems, fire extinguishing systems, air conditioning, cockpit heat, pressurization, and ventilation systems.

  • Remove and install oxygen system valves, gauges, converters, and regulators.

  • Remove, install, inspect, and rig ejection seats, Cartridge Actuation Devices (CADS), shoulder harnesses, and lap belts.

  • Perform daily, pre-flight, post-flight, and periodic aircraft inspections.

  • Assemble, disassemble, modify, repair, and overhaul aerospace vehicle systems and components.

  • Configure aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.

  • Troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to isolate and repair faults.

  • Perform validation and verification testing of systems and components.

  • Document repairs, inspections, modifications, and test results to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance.

  • Inspect components and verify repairs for flight worthiness requirements.

  • Support training activities and work under general direction.

Requirements:

  • Secret Clearance required prior to start (interim acceptable).

  • Minimum 5 years of aviation maintenance experience in egress systems, survival equipment, and/or related aircraft systems.

  • Experience installing and removing F-18 ejection seats.

  • Experience reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance procedures.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or elevated positions.

  • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.

  • Must meet U.S. export compliance requirements.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen to comply with security clearance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fighter structural modification experience.

  • Fighter electrical modification experience.

  • Ability to safely handle explosive devices and hazardous components.
