Job description

Abacus Technology is seeking a Graphic Design Specialist/Digital Content Creator to provide graphic design and digital content products for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate and Space Technology Mission Directorate on the eMITS program at Langley Research Center.  This is a full-time position.


  • Produce unique presentations, graphics, infographics, proposals, packages, reports, templates and other products, using PowerPoint and Adobe.
  • Provide quality control for design and content so that all products conform to NASA’s style guide and reflects the NASA brand as well as best practices for the platform and audience.
  • Distill complex data and information from technical documents into visual representations and reports.
  • Meet with the client to determine and develop the vision for the asset, provides a product for review and executes the final product.
  • Offer creative and professional input by recommending solutions for design problems. 

8+ years experience in graphic design.  Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, illustration, industrial design, or similar field.  Experience with social media content generation and analysis.  Expert level experience in digital delivery and print design.  Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite (expert knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop), Microsoft 365, and SharePoint.  Advanced experience with MS PowerPoint, including generating templates and embedding multimedia graphics and videos.  Able to interpret complex data in a visually simple and appealing way.  Must be client-oriented, collaborating and communicating concepts and solutions with non-designers.  Must have a strong foundation in typography, layout, and design.  Able to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and operate in a high-profile, fast-paced environment.  Experience with NASA is a plus.  Must be a US citizen.

May be required to provide a portfolio of examples that demonstrate creativity of producing content for external audiences and mastery of multiple writing styles.
