Job description

Growing Design firm in Baton Rouge has a need for a Structural Engineer. Daily duties will vary greatly based on experience and from project to project. The following types of projects and associated tasks can be anticipated:

· Project scoping and preparation of project proposals and contracts

· Coordination with subconsultants for the topographic survey, geotechnical, environmental, and traffic related services for design and construction of roadway and bridge projects

· Performing hydraulic and geometric analysis for the design & construction of roadway and bridge projects

· Coordination with project team (engineers, designers, CADD technicians, and administrative staff) to develop plans, specifications, design & construction cost estimates, permit applications, and bid/contract documents for roadway and bridge replacement projects

· Performing quality control review of plans, specifications, and estimates for roadway and bridge replacement projects

· Coordinating for the advertisement of projects for bidding and contract award

· Coordinating with contractors for construction of projects and performing construction observation as needed

· Manage scope, schedule, budget, and team performance for roadway and bridge projects

· Communication with clients, subconsultants, contractors, and the general public for the design and construction of public projects

Qualifications

Minimum Education / Experience Requirements To be considered, candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:

· Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program;

· Professional Engineer registration with the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board (LAPELS);

· A positive attitude and an ability to work well on diverse teams, with all levels of internal management, and clients;

· Strong verbal, written, and graphical communication skills;

· Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word;

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawings and documents;

· Valid driver's license; job will require travel to off-site locations intermittently.
