Manager, Training & Development

Healthrise

Farmington, MI โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Posted 7 days ago

Job description

Description:

The Manager, Training & Development owns the day-to-day design, delivery, and continuous improvement of the organization’s multi-disciplinary onboarding and learning programs. This role ensures new employees are onboarded consistently and effectively, and that existing employees have access to role-based training, leadership development, and career-growth resources that build skill readiness across the organization.

Reporting to the Director of Talent Management, this individual partners closely with Human Resources and Operations leadership to translate talent strategy into practical, well-executed programs. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role: building and facilitating training content, managing onboarding logistics and systems, tracking program effectiveness, and using data to continuously sharpen what the organization teaches and how.

This is an opportunity for a training and development professional to build and scale programs with real visibility, working directly with Operations and HR leadership to shape how employees are developed across the organization.

Requirements:

Duties and Responsibilities

Onboarding Program Management

• Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Healthrise Core Values in all interactions with team members, clients, and stakeholders.

• Manage and continuously improve structured onboarding programs, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience for new hires from offer acceptance through their first 90 days.

• Coordinate onboarding logistics, schedules, materials, and systems access in partnership with HR, IT, and hiring managers.

• Own and maintain onboarding content, including new hire orientation modules, role-based onboarding tracks, and completion tracking.

• Monitor onboarding feedback and early-tenure engagement data; recommend and implement adjustments to close gaps.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires and their managers throughout the onboarding period.

Learning & Professional Development Delivery

• Design, deliver, and facilitate role-based training programs, workshops, and career-pathway curricula aligned to organizational needs.

• Manage leadership development programming, including content coordination, scheduling, and facilitation or co-facilitation of sessions.

• Build and maintain the training content library, ensuring materials stay current, accurate, and aligned to actual role demands rather than aspirational job descriptions.

• Identify skill gaps and development needs in partnership with Operations and translate them into targeted training solutions.

• Coordinate the day-to-day execution of mentorship, internship, or rotational placement programs.

Training Effectiveness, Data & Reporting

• Establish and track training and onboarding metrics (completion rates, skill readiness, participant feedback, time-to-productivity) using the LMS and other reporting tools.

• Analyze training and onboarding data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement, using data to drive continuous program improvement.

• Prepare and present regular reporting on program outcomes to the Director of Talent Management and other stakeholders.

• Partner with HR and Operations to identify patterns of early attrition or performance gaps and adjust training and onboarding content accordingly.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Operations, HR, and business leaders to ensure training and onboarding content reflects actual role expectations, core competencies, and skill requirements.

• Communicate effectively with departmental leads and operational leadership to coordinate training schedules, priorities, and resource needs.

• Serve as a key liaison between the Talent Management team and other departments on all training- and onboarding-related matters.

• Support compliance-related training initiatives in partnership with Human Resources.

Program Administration & Continuous Improvement

• Manage the day-to-day operations for Healthrise’s professional development programs (internships, young professionals) and oversee the individuals within these programs.

• Maintain organized, up-to-date documentation of all training and onboarding programs, materials, and processes.

• Identify and implement process improvements that increase the efficiency, consistency, and quality of training and onboarding delivery.

• Provide guidance and coaching to any training coordinators, facilitators, or program support staff.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in training and development, learning & development, onboarding, or a related talent management function.

• Demonstrated experience designing and facilitating training programs for varied audiences, from frontline staff to leadership.

• Working knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design fundamentals.

• Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to build, deliver, and track training content.

• Proficient analytical skills, with the ability to translate training and onboarding data into actionable recommendations.

• Excellent written, verbal, and facilitation/presentation skills.

• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

• Completion of regulatory/mandatory certifications as required.

• Experience in using AI tools to develop and automate training resources.

Preferred

• Master’s degree in a related field.

• Experience in healthcare, revenue cycle management, professional services, or another project-based or regulated environment.

• Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD), SHRM-CP/SCP, or equivalent industry certification.

• Experience with instructional design tools and e-learning content development.

• Familiarity with HRIS systems as they relate to onboarding and training workflows.

• Experience supporting leadership development or career-pathway programs.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Work Environment: An office-based role at Healthrise’s headquarters in Farmington Hills, Michigan that requires regular collaboration across HR, Operations, and business leadership.

• Physical Demands: This is largely a sedentary role; employees may need to use keyboards, mouse, and other devices for typing, clicking, and navigating software systems, as well as stand and present during in-person training sessions.

• Schedule: Standard business hours, with occasional flexibility required to support training sessions, onboarding cohorts, or leadership development events outside standard hours.
