Job Summary:
The Professional Development Specialist- Team Lead (PDS-TL) collaborates with leadership and other PDSs to coordinate the assessment of educational needs and subsequent planning, implementation, and evaluation of innovative education to meet identified organizational needs. The PDS fosters engagement in lifelong learning to enhance competency, advance clinical practice, and facilitate achievement of goals. PDS-TLs serve as change agents, fluent in problem-solving and team building necessary to advance improvements. The PDS-TL facilitates the translation, evaluation, and integration of research and evidence-based practice at the point of care. As transformational leaders, the PDS-TL provides encouragement, support, and guidance to mentor leaders and staff. The PDS-TL assists the Director with oversight of daily department operations to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of service.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required.
  • Master of Science in nursing degree (MSN) preferred.
  • Active Kentucky RN License required.
  • Minimum 3 years recent acute care clinical experience in area of expertise; Some leadership or management experience required.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to competently present in front of large groups.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
  • BLS Instructor certification preferred.
  • Membership in Association for Nursing Professional Development strongly encouraged; membership in clinical professional body recommended.
  • Must possess MSN OR achieve certification in Nursing Professional Development within 2 years of hire.
