Purpose:
As part of our acquisition of Musselwhite Mine, we are recruiting for a Development Miner. This role will be based on-site and will be responsible to ensure processing and production targets and schedules are met as forecast. This role will report to the Development Supervisor and will be key to the success of the Mine Department.
Responsibilities include:
Lead the Underground Development team.
Assist and/or relieve Jumbo Operators in the operation of mechanized scaling, ground support installation and efficient face drilling practices.
Drill, load and blast explosives round with Jumbo.
Able to read, understand and interpret ground support evaluations (GSE), development plans and related engineering direction.
Carry out and complete mucking cycles with 9 & 10yrd Scooptrams.
Demonstrate work is carried out safely and efficiently.
Excellent housekeeping skills.
Other activities and duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
Minimum of Grade 11 education or higher with excellent communication skills.
UG Common Core Certification.
Certification to operate a Jumbo drill for mechanized scaling, ground support installation and face drilling, Scooptrams, Scissor Lift, Anfo Loader and other Development equipment.
Minimum of 5 years underground experience and the ability to safely and proficiently demonstrate the duties required for the job.
Ability to work safely with excellent housekeeping skills.
Ability to take direction from supervision.
Working Conditions
The schedule is 14/14, working 12-hour days


Compensation:

  • The base salary range for this position isCAD$126,676 - $143,939per year, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
  • The Company offers a Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP), including an automatic 5% employer contribution, with the option for employees to receive up to an additional 4% employer match on employee contributions.
