Job description

Overview
RealPage is leading the Generative AI transformation within the PropTech industry. Our Agentic AI team builds next-generation AI applications and enhances existing products using advanced Generative AI capabilities.
As a Senior AI Engineer, you will design, build, and deploy AI-powered applications that solve real business problems at scale. You will work with foundation models, create robust prompting and RAG pipelines, integrate agentic frameworks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful AI experiences for our users and clients.
Responsibilities
Agentic AI Engineering
  • Work with LLMs and multimodal models from various vendors (OpenAI GPT, Google Gemini, xAI Grok, Anthropic Claude, etc.).
  • Build AI-powered features such as conversational assistants, summarization systems, OCR pipelines, copilots, and agentic workflows.
  • Evaluate and implement LLMs, vector databases, RAG architectures, and agentic frameworks based on project needs.

Prompt Engineering
  • Develop reliable, optimized prompts for various generative AI use cases.
  • Address edge cases, reduce hallucinations, and improve model consistency.

Application Development
  • Build end-to-end features, including UI integrations (React/Vue/Svelte) and backend services (MCP, WebRTC, REST, gRPC).
  • Produce clean, production-ready Python and JavaScript/TypeScript code.

Evaluation & Quality
  • Contribute to evaluation frameworks that test LLM performance, grounding, safety, and reliability.
  • Participate in model benchmarking and continuous improvement cycles.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with AI engineers, software engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver integrated AI experiences.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical collaborators.

Innovation & Experimentation
  • Stay current with emerging AI trends and tools.
  • Build prototypes and PoCs to explore new ideas and validate approaches.

Business Alignment
  • Develop an understanding of RealPage's products, workflows, and customer needs to ensure AI solutions deliver meaningful impact.

Qualifications
  • 4-6 years in Software Engineering or Data Science, with 1-2 years of hands-on experience in Generative AI and LLMs.
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and SQL.
  • Practical experience with LLMs, embeddings, vector stores, RAG patterns, and agentic frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to write clean, production-grade code and participate in system design discussions.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with frameworks like OpenAI Agent SDK, AI SDK, LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, Mastra.
  • Familiarity with AI observability tools (LangSmith, OpenTelemetry).
  • Experience building voice-enabled AI experiences using STT APIs, TTS engines, or realtime audio (WebRTC, Twilio Voice, Socket.IO).
  • Knowledge of multi-turn conversation design and dialogue management.
