The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) is the union for professional basketball players in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Established in 1954, the NBPAโ€™s mission is to protect and advance the rights of our players. They are the game.


The NBPA advocates on behalf of the best interests of all NBA players, including through negotiating collective bargaining agreements, filing grievances on behalf of players, and counseling players on benefits and educational and post-NBA career opportunities. ROLE: Facilities Coordinator


LOCATION: LA, Onsite


DESCRIPTION: As a Coordinator, Facility Operations on the Operations team for NBPAโ€™s new basketball facility, you will be hands-on in supporting the day-to-day operations of the site, including monitoring facility conditions, coordinating repairs and maintenance, working directly with vendors, and providing on-the-ground support for events and member services.You will play a key role in ensuring the facility is clean, safe, organized, and fully operational, helping the Operations team deliver a seamless experience aligned with NBPA standards.


DEPARTMENT: Operations


REPORTS TO: Director, Facilities Operations


SALARY RANGE: $90K-$100K


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the new basketball facility, ensuring all areas are clean, safe, organized, and fully operational
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs of the new basketball facility to monitor court conditions, equipment, locker rooms, training areas, and common spaces
  • Log, track, and manage maintenance requests, work orders, and preventative maintenance schedules using Monday.com
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and specialized athletic systems, ensuring timely resolution
  • Work directly with vendors for cleaning, security, maintenance, and sports equipment services, tracking scope, timelines, and completion in Monday.com
  • Maintain accurate operational records for the new basketball facility, including service logs, vendor documentation, checklists, and inspection reports
  • Manage inventory, supplies, equipment, and maintenance materials, including procurement, storage, and restocking processes
  • Assist with operational setup and breakdown for practices, trainings, events, and special programming hosted at the new basketball facility
  • Support safety, access control, and compliance efforts, documenting incidents and follow-ups in Monday.com
  • Serve as an on-site point of contact for leadership, escalating issues as needed and providing real-time updates
  • Ensure all operational data and documentation related to the new basketball facility are consistently updated to support reporting, audits, and continuous improvement in Monday.com
  • Support expense reconciliation and ensure timely, accurate submission of supporting documentation.
  • Other duties as duties


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 1โ€“2 years of experience supporting a facility, preferably in an operations, maintenance, or coordination capacity
  • Local to Los Angeles area with the ability to work onsite five days per week, including overtime hours as needed to support operations and events
  • General knowledge of facilities maintenance and repair, with the ability to perform basic hands-on tasks and assist with troubleshooting issues as they arise
  • Demonstrated ability supporting mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, as well as coordinating vendors and sub-contractors to ensure work is completed to standard
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, and liaise effectively with vendors, staff, and leadership
  • Resourceful and proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to identify issues early and support timely resolutions
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a strong sense of facility safety, maintenance standards, and compliance
  • Ability to lift 25โ€“50 pounds as required for day-to-day facility and operational needs
  • Flexibility to support variable schedules, including occasional after-hours or weekend support when necessary.


PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working within a professional sports team or similar high-performance sports environment is preferred.
