Company Description

Alma Dance School is a professional ballet training facility for young talents interested in building a strong foundation in ballet and pursuing a career in dance. Alma Dance School is under the direction of two Cuban principal dancers and award-winning coaches Guillermo Leyva and Vilma Machin.  Both are former professional dancers and experienced teachers who have coached many students for the Youth America Grand Prix Competition, where their students have won both in New York finals and Midwest regionals.

Job Description

**Dance Background needed to apply for this position

Part-time/hourly pay. (A few hours a week) Afternoon/evening hours, and weekend mornings.

General job duties include, but are not limited to:

- Answering phones in a welcoming and customer-oriented manner.

- Make phone calls to customers and local businesses.

- Answer questions for customers/potential customers in a friendly, knowledgeable way.

- Track/update registration and tuition payments.

- Construct emails, flyers, attendance sheets, etc.

- Vacuum carpet as needed.,

- Coordinate volunteers to help for performances.

- Create weekly rehearsal schedules & post to the bulletin.

- Inform the customer base of upcoming events and performances.

- Ensure that information is up to date, visible and accessible to all students, parents, and supporters. Bring deficiency of information to the attention of the directors and staff members.

- Track and update class inquiries log and correspondence with customers.

- Assist in creating invoices.

- Coordinate and promote events within the community.

- Produce Cast Lists.

- Update School'S Handbook as needed.

- Oversee and coordinate ADS Nutcracker T-Shirts sales.

- Construct event flyers and coordinate volunteer help.

- Assist in securing substitute teacher as needed it.

Nutcracker, June Show and Workshop Responsibilities:

-Oversee and coordinate silent auction for Nutcracker production

-Search for grants in the dance form

-Order, track, receive, label & steam costumes for both performances.

-Coordinate flower and candy sellers for both performances.

-Assist in typing performance programs as needed.

-Communicate with teachers regarding performances, master classes, open classes, and workshops.

- Oversee and produce The Nutcracker Audition notice and preparation.

- Coordinate all ADT production flyers/posters and deliver to business as needed, coordinate volunteer help.

-Oversee, track and mail ad solicitation for two production program with the marketing associate.

-Sell tickets for both performances at the school if needed.

- Help to organize July 4th Parade or any other school events.

- Any other tasks assigned

- Needs to be available for training before starting in the position!

- Good computer skills. Proficient with word, powerpoint, excel, publisher.

- Excellent grammar and communication skills.

- Well organized, detail-oriented and a quick learner.

Qualifications

College degree or working towards a college degree, with a high level of interest in the art of ballet dance. Must have some background in dance. Should have good computer skills, proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Publisher. Excellent grammar and communication skills. Well organized, detail-orientated and quick learner. Ability to multi-task and handle business matters professionally, maturely and confidently. Customer-orientated, energetic, friendly and good team player.
