The Opportunity

Standard Plumbing & Heating is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our team in Mansfield, OH.


In this role, you'll manage and grow relationships with existing commercial and industrial customers while identifying opportunities for preventive maintenance agreements, HVAC repairs, equipment replacements, controls, plumbing, piping, and other mechanical services.


You'll serve as a trusted advisor to customers throughout the Mansfield and Central Ohio market, helping them improve equipment reliability, control operating costs, plan capital improvements, and keep their facilities operating at peak performance.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial and industrial customers throughout Mansfield and the surrounding market.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers and provide responsive, professional account management.
  • Grow existing accounts by identifying opportunities for preventive maintenance agreements, HVAC repairs, equipment replacements, controls, plumbing, piping, and other mechanical solutions.
  • Develop new customer relationships and expand Standard's commercial service presence throughout the market.
  • Renew maintenance agreements and negotiate contract extensions.
  • Identify equipment replacement and retrofit opportunities by evaluating equipment condition, repair history, system performance, and lifecycle costs.
  • Prepare service proposals, preventive maintenance agreements, repair quotations, and budget pricing.
  • Review technician findings and service reports and communicate recommendations clearly to customers.
  • Help customers develop proactive maintenance and capital replacement strategies for their facilities.
  • Coordinate with service managers, dispatchers, technicians, estimators, project managers, and operations teams to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Respond to customer RFPs and develop customized mechanical service solutions.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, account activity, and opportunity pipelines.
  • Resolve customer concerns while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
  • Represent Standard Plumbing & Heating and PremiStar with professionalism, integrity, and a strong commitment to safety.


What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial HVAC service sales, account management, facilities management, mechanical contracting, or a related field.
  • Experience selling commercial HVAC service agreements, repairs, retrofits, or equipment replacement projects.
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, building automation systems, and controls.
  • Experience with commercial plumbing, piping, or related mechanical services is a plus.
  • Ability to identify service and replacement opportunities within existing customer accounts.
  • Experience preparing service proposals, maintenance agreements, and customer pricing.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and construction documents is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer accounts and opportunities simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable developing business within an established territory.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar CRM software is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
