Job description

 Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator/Production Manager to join our team at Diamond Quality Collision Center.

 As an Estimator/Production Manager, you will be responsible for assessing vehicle damage, repair estimates, and providing exceptional customer service. Your role will be essential in ensuring the timely and efficient repair process, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of automotive repair processes, industry pricing, and the ability to work effectively with customers and technicians.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Damage Assessment: Inspect vehicles to determine the extent of damage and assess necessary repairs.
  • Estimate Preparation: Create detailed, accurate, and clear repair estimates using industry-standard software.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to explain damage, repair recommendations, and cost estimates. Provide excellent customer service and address any questions or concerns.
  • Collaboration with Technicians: Work closely with technicians and other team members to ensure estimates align with actual repair requirements.
  • Insurance Coordination: Liaise with insurance adjusters to negotiate and clarify repair costs, ensuring proper coverage for both the customer and the shop.
  • Parts and Labor Management: Identify and document required parts and labor for each repair job, ensuring accurate ordering and scheduling.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all estimates and repair work meet the shop’s quality standards and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and organized records of estimates, repairs, and communications with customers and insurance companies.
  • Follow-up: Follow up with customers to provide updates on the progress of repairs and to ensure satisfaction with completed work.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 2+years of experience in an auto body shop, with a background in estimating and vehicle repair.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of auto body repair procedures, parts, and industry pricing.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency with estimating software, (add in) and MS Office Suite.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers.
  • Customer Service: Strong customer service skills with a focus on professionalism, patience, and problem-solving.
  • Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy and attention to detail when preparing estimates and evaluating repairs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to inspect vehicles, including working in a shop environment and lifting up to 50 pounds as necessary.
  • Must be able to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods to inspect vehicles and document damage.
