2nd Shift - Production Area Manager

  • Under the supervision of the production manager, deploy and manage plant policies and procedures to ensure effective operations consistent with the Midway Production System (MPS) values and philosophy.
  • Working with the productions manager, develops a plan to meet key metric goals.
  • Accountable for the day-to-day decisions that directly impact the safety, quality, efficiency, and people of the assigned area.
  • Develops, trains, coaches, appraises, and motivates team leaders and team members in the performance of their respective roles.
  • With assistance from the production manager, develop, execute, and sustain the 5S plan.
  • Conducts investigation of work-related accidents and compiles report on results.
  • Communicates with Quality to ensure consistent application of quality processes/procedures
  • Ensures all resources (maintenance, tooling, engineering, quality, & materials) are effectively utilized to maximize all value-added activities that support the overall business needs with high emphasis on customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures all employees have been given the necessary tools to perform duties, i.e. personal protective equipment, small tools, accurate work instructions, & quality alerts.
  • Able to analyze data and manage operating performance through the use of the problem-solving process by leading, highlighting opportunities/possible solutions and empowering others to make improvements.
  • Leads and/or participates in activities or projects that promote continuous improvement
  • Distributes all work in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Adhere to the escalation procedures designated by the plant and or department manager
  • Update and report out on production data, variances to target and / or general information
  • Adheres to overtime planning and communication process
