At VIP, Inc., people are at the heart of our mission. For over 40 years, we have been dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through employment, training, and support services.
We're looking for a reliable, safety-minded, and hardworking Floor Scrubber/Buffer Machine Operator to join our team at a warehouse facility in Arvin, CA. This position is primarily focused on independently operating floor cleaning equipment and maintaining a clean, safe, and professional warehouse environment.
While your primary responsibilities will be performed independently, there may be opportunities to step in as a Job Coach when needed and work directly alongside individuals VIP supports.
Schedules Offered
2nd Shift: Monday - Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
3rd Shift: Tuesday - Saturday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Safely operating a floor scrubber, buffer, and other designated cleaning equipment according to established procedures
  • Thoroughly cleaning and maintaining assigned warehouse floor areas
  • Inspecting work areas and addressing spills, dirt, debris, and other conditions that may impact cleanliness or safety
  • Performing routine checks of floor cleaning equipment before and during use
  • Reporting equipment issues, damage, or maintenance needs to the appropriate supervisor
  • Properly handling and storing cleaning supplies and materials
  • Cleaning and maintaining floor equipment after use
  • Ensuring machines and supplies are properly stored at the end of each shift
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and professional work environment
  • Following all applicable safety procedures and warehouse requirements
  • Working independently while maintaining consistent productivity and attention to detail
  • Occasionally assisting as a Job Coach when needed, which may include working directly with individuals VIP supports

What We're Looking For
  • Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean work environment
  • Comfortable operating or learning to operate floor scrubbers, buffers, and other industrial cleaning equipment
  • Previous warehouse, janitorial, sanitation, or machine operation experience is preferred
  • Ability to follow established procedures and safety guidelines
  • Ability to identify and report safety hazards, spills, equipment problems, or maintenance concerns
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment and being on your feet for extended periods
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • A valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is a plus, but not required
