POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Operator is responsible for performing all activities in the operation of equipment and will have different levels based on Versatility Matrix and demonstration of competence towards increased levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded as management determines necessary:

Operator I Designation:

  • Reports to Supervisor. Takes direction from lead worker or set-up tech
  • Following instructions from Manufacturing Procedures (MPs) and press side documentation, determine method of press operation
  • Visually inspect parts for defects and flashing
  • Trim parts with hand tools, as required
  • Report press operation irregularities and stock adjustments to lead worker
  • Operate several presses, as required. Operate secondary operations as required
  • Perform housekeeping activities to maintain work area and assure cleanliness of environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Operator II Designation:

  • Proficient at all items present in Operator I Designation
  • Trainer for Operator I jobs/cells
  • Proficient at increased complexity jobs/cells (Identified on Versatility Matrix)
  • Labor flexible to different areas/cells throughout shift
  • IQMS intermediate problem-solving ability

Operator III Designation:

  • Extremely proficient at all items present in Operator I and II Designations
  • Trainer on all jobs/cells assigned
  • Basic knowledge of processing and press function with added troubleshooting ability
  • Basic knowledge of press robots (homing, cleaning, alarm, EOAT change)
  • Basic knowledge of quality systems including inspection, blueprint reading, method of measurement
  • Problem solving ability and methodologies โ€“ able to think through problems and learn from experience
  • Able to learn specialized measurement techniques and production equipment:
  • Plasma Treating
  • Priming equipment
  • Post cure oven
  • Automated vision equipment (and stereo microscope)
  • Ice blast molds per instructions
  • Nexus or other dousing systems
  • IQMS trainer โ€“ WO, Label, Line clearance, Realtime, etc
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, perform cleaning as necessary
  • Able to manage time correctly throughout the day to work on priority tasks via Manager
  • Physically able to lift/move 30 lbs daily



QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):

  • Must use shop mathematics and follow instructions
  • Become proficient in company procedures and knowledgeable in opening all department equipment
  • Able to learn new processes and follow instructions
  • Safety protection must be worn as required
