Production is primarily focused on Stainless Steels and Specialty Alloys, available in blooms and billets, ingots, round, square, flat, hexagonal and angle bars, wire rod, wire, reinforcement bars and threaded rods, with the expressed goal of satisfying the most sophisticated needs of the customer. To that end, Valbruna is constantly updating its production capabilities and experience.

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor, Remelt is responsible for leading, planning, organizing, and directing all daily activities for the Remelt Department. The incumbent will be responsible for the safety, production, and quality results of department. He / She provides technical information, documentation, support, and guidance by participating as a cross-functional team member to help resolve issues relating to manufacturing. He / she will help drive improvement in all related manufacturing processes, including those related to products, equipment, human interface, and product quality. This position requires active involvement with the production processes and personnel.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The position will supervise a group of hourly employees.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Actively promotes and enforces safety regulations, processes, and policies to maintain a safe environment. Conducts weekly safety audits of assigned department.
  • Responsible for meeting the daily and weekly output requirements for their assigned department(s).
  • Provides leadership, management, and motivation to attain high levels of employee achievement and retention.
  • Plans, directs, and assigns work. Coordinate overtime as necessary.
  • Trains, coaches, and mentors employees
  • Ensures material is scheduled to complete departmental operations in accordance with the scheduled delivery date. Schedules to allow for most efficient / productive operation.
  • Monitors usage of tools associated with production and suggest improvement initiatives.
  • Expeditiously dispositions material that is on hold to keep from negatively affecting OTD.
  • Ensures equipment is maintained (Maint. & Prod.) preventative maintenance
  • Creates, edits, maintains material routings.
  • Ensures that material is processed correctly to minimize rejects and total process loss.
  • Evaluates departmental yield loss and identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Track department productivity, quality, and other metrics as necessary to ensure on-time delivery and propose and lead improvement projects.
  • Issue corrective actions and discipline as necessary
