Purpose of Position:

The General Manager reports directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Segers Group and is responsible for the overall leadership, management and successful operation of Fairhope Aero. The General Manager provides strategic, operational and financial leadership to ensure the achievement of company objectives while driving growth, operational excellence, customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance. This position works closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to develop and execute business strategies that align with Segers Group's vision and long-term objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and oversee all day-to-day operations by managing cross-functional teams and ensuring excellence in safety, quality, productivity, turnaround time, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and overall business performance.
  • Provide strategic leadership and overall direction to Fairhope Aero to achieve Segers Group's business objectives, growth initiatives and long-term vision.
  • Direct and oversee the site's financial performance through collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and budgeting, forecasting, profit and loss management, cost control, capital expenditures, resource allocation and ensuring operations are conducted within approved budgetary constraints.
  • Develop, implement and execute strategic business plans that drive profitable growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, commercial and government market expansion, strategic partnerships, acquisitions and other initiatives that strengthen the company’s competitive position.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations, quality, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing and support functions using performance metrics and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure full compliance with FAA FAR Part 145 regulations, quality, management systems, customer requirements and all applicable federal, state and local regulations by partnering with Quality leadership to support FAA audits, customer approvals, corrective actions, documentation integrity and enterprise risk management.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership and department heads to establish priorities, align resources, evaluate performance and execute strategies that support company objectives.
  • Contributes to sales, marketing and customer service strategies to ensure they align with operational capabilities and company goals.
  • Serve as the primary executive representative for Fairhope Aero with customers commercial airlines, government agencies, military organizations, OEMs, regulatory authorities, suppliers and industry partners.
  • Build, lead, develop and retain a high performing leadership team by fostering a positive, motivated culture of accountability, safety, quality, compliance, collaboration, continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Identifies and mitigates potential risks to the business, including developing and implementing risk management strategies.
  • Sets comprehensive goals for growth across the organization, evaluates performance, interprets data and metrics to ensure operational and production targets are met or exceeded.
  • Builds and maintains trusting relationships with customers, clients, partners, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure the company's operational capabilities are maintained.
  • Train and develop employees as necessary to ensure production goals are met and proper procedures and policies are followed.
  • Addresses conflicts and strives to resolve them in a positive manner that benefits all parties and facilitates healthy work relationships.
  • Timely completes, approves and adjusts time and attendance/labor reporting as required.
  • Responsible for completing employee performance reviews, annual salary adjustments, and documenting work performance.
  • Responsible for coaching, counseling and holding employees accountable as required.
  • Accountable for ensuring operational commitments, customer requirements, production schedules and business objectives are achieved across all functional areas.
  • Work when scheduled and comply with company attendance policy.
  • Observes and practices all safety procedures and PPE requirements (e.g. safety glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.) and ensures others comply with safety requirements.

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time while using hands, fingers and wrists repetitively
  • Ability to provide verifications of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictions

Experience and Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED with 20 years of experience or
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Aviation Management, Engineering, Operations with 10 years of experience.
  • MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience supporting both commercial aviation and government or defense customers.
  • Experience leading acquisition integration, business transformation, or post-transition growth initiatives.
  • Knowledge of aerospace component repair, manufacturing, engineering support, military aviation, or government contracting.
  • Background screening required, must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Work Conditions:

Works in an office environment and frequently subjected to the plant area with moving machinery and parts, loud noises, and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. Noise is generally loud.
