Plant Engineering Manager | Manufacturing Operations & Continuous Improvement


We’re looking for a hands-on Plant Engineering Manager to lead engineering and maintenance operations within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a strategic leader who thrives on improving processes, driving operational performance, and leading teams through continuous improvement initiatives.


You’ll oversee manufacturing engineering and maintenance activities across fabrication, welding, paint, and assembly operations while partnering with leadership to enhance safety, efficiency, quality, and productivity. This position plays a key role in capital planning, process optimization, and new product implementation.


The right candidate will bring strong experience in fabrication and welding environments, lean manufacturing, and capital projects, along with a proven ability to lead teams and influence operational success.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance teams in supporting daily production and long-term operational goals
  • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives focused on waste reduction, workflow optimization, and productivity improvements
  • Manage capital equipment projects from planning and justification through implementation
  • Improve manufacturing processes, plant layouts, takt time, ergonomics, and floor space utilization
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, quality, and production teams to solve complex manufacturing challenges
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure safe, efficient production processes
  • Oversee preventative maintenance strategies to maximize equipment reliability and uptime
  • Support new product launches, manufacturing readiness, and continuous process improvements
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, automation, and technology advancement


What We’re Looking For

  • Strong background in fabrication and welding manufacturing environments
  • Experience leading lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proven success managing capital projects and manufacturing process improvements
  • Previous leadership experience in a supervisor and/or manager capacity
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, and communication skills
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience working closely with cross-functional departments and shop floor operations
