12-hr shift (week 1, 3 days / week 2, 4 days) 

Starts at $21/hr

Position Summary

Accountable for maintaining a safe work environment, quality-oriented, efficient atmosphere during their assigned shifts' operation along with ensuring positive, fair and equitable treatment for all employees and visitors.

Primary Functions

  • Manage the production floor responsibilities to include standardization of manpower utilization, material efficiencies and documented quality evaluation to ensure that maximum capabilities are met.  Ensure accurate and timely input into Mattec system for corrections or improvements.
  • Ensures a productive, proactive work environment.  Provide ongoing training to team members to ensure continued growth and improvement in all aspects of their responsibilities.  Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the shift, maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
  • Standardize daily production to ensure customer expectations are exceeded. 
  • Provide timely, detailed information via shift-to-shift notes, supervisors, managers and departments that will document problems and corrective actions that were taken during their shift’s hours of operation.  Provides timely submission of reports and miscellaneous documentation as required by policy and procedure and/or requested by staff.
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees by coordinating with supervisors, managers and departments to ensure consistency in the manufacturing operation.  Ensure equitable distribution of work assignments and prioritization of same for the production team along with follow through until completion.
  • Provides timely information for performance reviews, evaluations of team members along with recommendations for corrective actions and promotion potential to Supervisor.
  • Maintains enforcement of and compliance with policy and procedures to ensure that the results conform to planned and/or desired results and to assure a safe working environment is maintained.  Establish and maintain an appropriate 5-S program.
  • Shows proactive thinking in training and development of shift personnel to maximize efficiencies in the shift operation.  Coordinates with Maintenance, Process and Tooling on all issues that are beyond the skill level of the shift team to ensure accurate communication of needs for repair and timeliness for completion.
  • With the team, work through Continuous Process Improvements as assigned or thought of to reduce waste, improve process, improve housekeeping and/or improve cost savings.
  • Ensure adequate supplies are on hand to ensure a smooth efficient operation and ordering/requisitioning additional supplies as needed.

  • Excellent computer capabilities, including MS Office.
  • Interpersonal skills are required to communicate in accurate manner to individuals and to the team to develop a cohesive group.
  • The ability to work with and maintain information of a highly confidential and sensitive nature.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to display diplomacy in day-to-day interactions with commitment to task with awareness of urgency.
  • The ability to work independently and work as a value add to plant team efforts.
  • Drive documentation process for road maps, change-over checklists and batch records.
  • Effectively communicate expectations and change with groups and individuals and different departments.
  • Develop rosters for daily production and contingency planning for unforeseen changes.
  • Use the production schedule and priority list to identify and collect proper documentation for job and tool changes.
