Position Summary:

Production Planning Manager oversees the scheduling and planning of production activities, ensuring efficient use of resources,timelydelivery of products, andoptimalproductivity. Responsibilities include inventory management, process optimization, and coordination with other departments.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet customer demand andoptimizeresourcesutilization
  • Confer with employees at all levels of the company to discussprogressregardingcustomer orders and production scheduling to resolve problems and ensure standards of service,qualityandproductdelivery are met.
  • Maintaining inventory levels/safety stock levels.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and supply chain teams to ensureaccurateforecasting andtimelydelivery of products
  • Partner with Inventory ControlManager, WarehouseManager(s)and Supply chain teams todeterminepart availability.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards
  • Analyze production data andidentifyopportunities for improvement in efficiency, cost, and quality
  • Lead and coach production planning team members to achieve performance goals andobjectives
  • Identifymaterial requirements from production and new product requirements
  • Communicate production status, issues, and risks to senior management and stakeholders
  • Offer technicalexpertiseto cross functional project team.
  • Provide a work environment where employees are actively involved in proactive measures towardsproduction goals andsafety.
  • Maintain a culture of open and robust communication tofacilitateand enhance the achievement of business goals andobjectivesand work across functional groups.
  • Align departmental goals andobjectivesto support business growth and financialobjectives.

Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:

  • Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills toidentifyand mitigate production bottlenecks
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of production planners, and coordinate with other departments to ensuretimelydelivery of products
  • Thorough understanding of replenishment concepts and MRP/ERP planning.
  • Strong communicationskills to collaborate with suppliers, vendors, andlogisticspartners
  • In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Availability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing production schedules

Position Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, Supply Chain Managementor equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years inperforming a similar position in lieu of Education.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning and scheduling in a manufacturing environment
  • CPIM or APIC certificationa Plus
  • Expertisein using production planning software such as Oracle, or similar

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Manufacturing Environment
  • Maylift upto 50 lbs.
  • Requires walking, standing,bendingand lifting forlong periodsof time
  • Vision abilitiesrequiredtovalidateand enter data on computer
